Electric vehicles are no longer just a glimpse into the future. They are here, they are exciting, and they are transforming the way we think about transport. At EVision Electric Vehicles, we were proud to showcase this change first-hand at Go Green Day. Which was held at Swanley Park on Friday 31st July 2026.
The event brought together hundreds of visitors, local organisations, businesses and sustainability enthusiasts for a fantastic day focused on greener living, renewable energy and the growing role of electric mobility. Organised by Swanley Town Council, Go Green Day created the perfect environment for families and members of the community to discover how sustainable technology is becoming part of everyday life.
For EVision, the day was all about helping people experience electric vehicles up close. Our team was on hand throughout the event to answer questions, share knowledge and show visitors just how practical electric vehicles can be.
Showcasing the Future of Electric Driving
Our display featured an exciting selection of electric vehicles available through EVision. Giving visitors the opportunity to explore everything from premium electric cars to innovative electric pick-up trucks.
One of the biggest talking points was the impressive line-up of electric vehicles on display, including the:
- American-built Rivian R1T and Ford F-150 Lightning electric pick-up trucks
- the Volkswagen ID.Buzz
- MG5
- and the iconic BMW i3
Each vehicle showcased a different side of electric mobility. Proving that making the switch to electric does not mean compromising on style, performance or practicality.
Rivian R1T: A New Era for Electric Adventure
The Rivian R1T brought a real sense of excitement to our stand. Designed in the United States, this all-electric pick-up truck combines rugged capability with advanced technology and premium comfort.
Built for adventure, the Rivian R1T features dual electric motors. Delivering impressive performance both on and off the road. Depending on specification, it can offer up to around 320 miles of range. Making it a strong example of how electric vehicles can deliver long-distance capability.
With its innovative storage solutions, including the famous Gear Tunnel, and its ability to tow and tackle challenging terrain, the R1T demonstrates that electric vehicles can be just as capable as traditional combustion-powered vehicles.
Visitors were fascinated by its futuristic design and were keen to learn more about how electric power is changing the world of utility vehicles.
Ford F-150 Lightning: America’s Favourite Pick-up Truck
Another standout vehicle at Go Green Day was the Ford F-150 Lightning. Based on the legendary F-150 pick-up platform, the Lightning brings one of the world’s best-known trucks into the electric age.
The F-150 Lightning offers strong towing ability, impressive acceleration and a spacious interior packed with modern technology. Depending on battery choice, it can deliver up to approximately 310 miles of range.
One of its most talked-about features is the large front storage area, known as the frunk. It provides additional space where a traditional engine would normally sit. The vehicle can also provide power externally, making it useful for work sites, outdoor adventures and emergency situations.
The F-150 Lightning proved that sustainability and practicality can work together perfectly.
Volkswagen ID.Buzz: A Modern Icon Reborn
Few vehicles attracted as many smiles as the Volkswagen ID.Buzz. Inspired by the famous Volkswagen camper vans of the past, the ID.Buzz brings a fresh electric twist to a much-loved design.
Combining retro styling with modern technology, the ID.Buzz offers a spacious interior, comfortable driving experience and zero-emission performance. Depending on version, it provides around 205 miles of range. It also features a practical layout that makes it ideal for families, businesses and leisure trips.
Its distinctive appearance made it a popular attraction throughout the day, with many visitors stopping by to take a closer look at this unique electric MPV.
MG5 EV: Practical Electric Motoring for Everyday Life
The MG5 EV showed visitors that electric driving can be affordable, practical and incredibly convenient. As one of the few fully electric estate cars available, it offers plenty of space while keeping running costs low.
With a battery range of up to around 270 miles, the MG5 EV is designed for everyday journeys. Whether that means commuting, family trips or business use. Its generous boot space and comfortable driving experience make it a great example of how electric vehicles can fit easily into daily life.
For many visitors, the MG5 EV highlighted that switching to electric does not require a dramatic lifestyle change. It simply offers a smarter way to travel.
BMW i3: The Electric Pioneer
The BMW i3 remains one of the most recognisable electric vehicles of the modern era. First introduced in 2013, it helped establish electric mobility as an exciting and premium choice for drivers around the world.
Known for its distinctive design, lightweight construction and innovative use of materials, the BMW i3 was ahead of its time. Later versions offered a range of around 170 miles, making it ideal for urban driving and shorter journeys.
The i3 continues to be admired for its clever engineering and its role in helping pave the way for today’s growing electric vehicle market.
A Community Coming Together for a Greener Future
Go Green Day was about much more than vehicles. It was a celebration of the many ways communities can work together to create a more sustainable future.
Visitors were able to see Swanley Town Council’s own electric vans, which are already helping maintain the town’s open spaces while reducing emissions. Representatives from Kent Police also attended to discuss the organisation’s transition towards EVs as part of its wider environmental goals.
The event also featured renewable energy experts, including Kent-based company Sunpower Services. They shared information about free commercial solar panel installations and how businesses can use renewable energy to reduce their carbon footprint and energy costs.
Adding even more excitement, Tesla displayed the highly anticipated Cybertruck. This EV attracted plenty of attention from visitors eager to see the striking electric vehicle in person.
The event received support from The Mayor of Swanley, Michael Horwood. Additionally, it also welcomed electric vehicle enthusiasts from across the South East. Popular YouTuber Mr. EV, also known as Andrew Till, joined visitors in celebrating the rapid growth of sustainable transport.
