Driver Eligibility & Documentation
Everything you need to know about driver age limits, licence requirements, and mandatory verification documents for your hire.
5 years if hiring a Tesla, Jaguar I-Pace, Porsche Taycan, Audi e-tron, Polestar 2, Mercedes EQC and EQV or any of our electric vans including the Vauxhall Vivaro-e and Renault Kangoo.
3 years if hiring a Renault ZOE, BMW i3, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia E-Niro, Kia EV6, Kia Soul EV, Vauxhall Corsa-e, Vauxhall Mokka-e, Volkswagen ID.3 or Volkswagen ID.4.
It may be possible, depending upon how many points you have and what you accrued them for. Please call our team and we will do our level best to find a way to accommodate you.
The minimum age requirements will be shown on each individual car page. Please refer to these for more information.
The answer is yes, provided you have all of the following:
- You have your own insurance and include EVision on the policy as the car owner.
- You provide us with the damage deposit amount shown on the specific vehicle page. The deposit is refundable when the vehicle is properly returned in a satisfactory condition.
- You have no more than 6 points on your licence.
- Must have held a driving licence for 5 years or more (anyone of any age can drive it, the car will just need to be insured by the driver).
If you are not able to provide details for all of the above, unfortunately you will be unable to hire the car from EVision.
When hiring a car from EVision Electric Vehicles, we will require 3 things from you:
- 2 letters showing your full name and full address i.e. utility bill / bank statement
- Your vehicle licence check code, generated via the DVLA website
- A photocopy of your driving licence
If you do not hold a British Driving License, then you would need to send us a photocopy of the front and back of your driving licence initially. We would then get this checked over with our own insurance company to ensure you can indeed hire the vehicle. We would let you know as soon as we have heard back from the insurance company.
Vehicle hire rates are per vehicle. If you choose to use EVision’s insurance, each additional driver added to the policy incurs the same insurance charge as the primary driver. All drivers must meet the applicable minimum age and driving licence requirements.
Collection, Return & Logistics
Everything you need to know about picking up your vehicle, operating hours, late returns, free customer parking, and international travel arrangements.
EVision’s standard opening hours are as follows:
Mon – Fri: 0800 – 1800 hrs.
Saturday and Sunday: Out of hours (Appointment Only) Fees Apply.
If you would like to collect/drop off an electric vehicle outside of these hours there will be a £25+VAT charge.
Any hires made through EVision are based on a 24 hour period. If you’re unsure of times, or would like to enquire about hire times prior to booking, please give the team a call on 01634 914063.
When booking on our website, simply select your preferred hire start date.
If you request delivery, your vehicle will arrive on your selected start date.
Our team will contact you via phone or email beforehand to confirm all hire and delivery details.
Unfortunately we would be required to charge a late return fee if a vehicle is returned after the stated time of the hire.
You will need to calculate and plan your charging route with as much care as you plan your road route before you set off. Chargers may be broken or not in use, and you could find yourself trapped or stuck with a slow charger and not be able to get the car back within the hire period and incur the late return penalty.
We always recommend choosing a charging area where there is more than one charging venue, so you have 2 additional places to try. Familiarise yourself with the ZapMap app a few days before you travel. It will take time to understand the meaning and significance of the icons and their relationship to the car you hire and your journey.
Yes, absolutely! We always do our very best to accommodate hire extensions so you can keep enjoying your electric vehicle.
Simply contact our team as early as possible via phone or email to check availability. Because we operate a large fleet, we can usually extend the vehicle you’re currently driving. If your specific car happens to be pre-booked by another client, don’t worry – we’ll happily help you seamlessly transition into another fantastic vehicle from our fleet.
Please note that hire extensions are subject to availability and standard pro-rata rates.
Yes you may. Please note, however, that you leave your vehicle at our premises at your own risk and we cannot accept any responsibility for its safe-keeping; nor can we accept liability for any damage it may sustain whilst left in our car park.
Initially, we would have to carry out some standard procedure checks. If approved, please kindly note there will be an additional cost on the insurance if you are taking the electric car outside of the UK.
International Insurance will be subject to £50 + VAT Admin & Processing Fee.
*All Hires: Fair Usage Policy applies. See Terms & Conditions.
Electric vehicle hires for less than 12 months benefit from 150 miles usage per day.
Rentals of 12 months + are subject to 10,000 miles per annum / pro rata.
-
ULEZ – All of our electric vehicles are 100% emission-free and exempt from London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) daily charge.
-
Dartford Crossing & Congestion Charge – Tolls and congestion fees are the renter’s responsibility. Standard Dart Charge tolls apply, and electric vehicles driving in London’s Congestion Zone are subject to daily charges. Please ensure you pay these charges online before or on the day of travel to avoid penalty charge notices (PCNs).
The hirer must pay for any parking charges or traffic fines incurred during the rental period related to their use of the vehicle.
EVision will charge the hirer an admin fee of £30 + VAT to cover the time and costs of processing this mandatory documentation.
The hirer shall also pay for any fees and/or fines incurred by the London Congestion Charge and any other local or national charges accrued.
