Well, another year has come to an end already. Can you believe it??? Well, for EVision 2024 was another superb year. We attended several events, and we received some fantastic new electric vehicles. Obviously it would be impossible to cover everything in this blog post. After all, a year is a long time. However, here are some of our highlights. We hope you enjoy our brief review of the year.
A Familiar Event, A New Venue
Most of you will be familiar with the Fully Charged Show and their Everything Electric event (formerly Fully Charged Live). This is a fantastic event that EVision has attended many times since its initial inception. After a couple of years at Silverstone, the event moved to Farnborough and continued to thrill audiences.
The EVision 2024 events calendar truly kicked off with a brand new venue for the EVerything Electric show, the ExCel events centre in London. Going up to the capital was a great experience. We saw many familiar friends from previous shows, and we met many new ones as well. Our Riviat R1T and Ford F-150 Lightning both proved to be popular additions to the show with a lot of interest throughout the day. For EVision 2024 was off to a great start.
New Comers to the EVision 2024 Lineup
We absolutely love a new vehicle day, and 2024 came up with some absolute beauties. Here are just a few of our favourite arrivals from this past year.
Rivian R1S
After the success of the Rivian R1T electric pickup truck (which you can hire from EVision), there was a demand for the SUV version of that wonderful vehicle to make an appearance. This followup is the R1S and it made its way across the ocean to become available from EVision Electric Vehicles. Features in this pickup truck have to be seen to be believed. They are absolutely mind-blowing! There are also 7 seats, and all with absolutely buckets of room. No wonder so many people are crying out for Rivian to be released in the UK.
Ford e-Transit Custom
Takeup of the Ford e-Transit was absolutely astounding. The Transit name is a strong one, and this has transferred to the electric version too. It was no surprise, then, that the follow up van, the Ford e-Transit Custom, would also continue this popularity in the electric age. This is a great, hardworking electric van that not only has lots of cargo space, it is also very comfortable and fun to drive.
Porsche Macan
When Porsche entered the electric car world, they did so with a bang. The unbelievable Porsche Taycan has become a solid status symbol in the world of luxury EVs. A stunning design coupled with an equally stunning performance. It was not surprising that the next Porsche to be released would also capture the imagination. This is exactly what the Porsche Macan did. Arriving late in the year, the Porsche Macan became an instant attraction when it arrived in Farnborough in October. Which leads us onto the next event of the year.
Everything Electric North and South – Familiar Territory
As well as the new Everything Electric Show, there were also the more familiar events in the north and south. Harrogate played host once again in the north in May, proving that the love for electric vehicles was strong up and down the UK. Our team was kept on their toes for the whole weekend, chatting to many people fascinated by the wares on display.
Farnborough was the venue once again for the south event. This time we were inside rather than out. Being in October this time, the indoor situation was much appreciated by all in attendance. Our Porsche Macan made its debut on the Live stage, being presented each day by the Fully Charged team. We also took the Ford F-150 Lightning, the MG ZS with 2024 plates, and the Rivian R1S. All of which were winners with the crowd.
Final Words Before we Move From EVision 2024 to EVision 2025
As we said at the beginning, the EVision 2024 year was excellent. We have seen great new vehicles arrive, we have attended events, seen old friends, met new ones. There have also been a number of key news events throughout the year that we have shared with our readers. We hope that 2025 will be just as exciting.
