We are in the year 2024 and something that has struck me is the variety of electric vehicles that are available. Here at EVision we are proud to have a great selection of these different types of vehicles. So, in this blog I will be having a look at some of those vehicles, talking about their benefits and what makes them great electric hire vehicles.
BMW i3 – The Smallest in Our Variety of Electric Vehicles
Let’s start with the smallest of our electric vehicles. The hatchback variety is pretty strong and with a fantastic selection. We will look in particular at the magnificent BMW i3. This is an iconic electric car that has withstood the test of time. After Tesla got the ball rolling with the fabulous Tesla Model S and Tesla Model Y, BMW came along and produced a wonderful little car at the other end of the price spectrum.
Up until the BMW i3 was discontinued in 2022, the car had been through a number of upgrades in battery size and other technology. One thing that remained constant throughout is the instantly recognisable shape and the unusual suicide doors that open up to the rear of the cabin.
For a small car, the BMW i3 has a hell of a kick in the acceleration department. The 0-60 mph time is an impressive 7.2 seconds, and there is a real world range of around 170 miles. This makes the car incredibly practical.
Tesla Model Y – An Electric SUV Dream Car
Moving up in size we will look at the Tesla Model Y. Tesla, as I’m sure you probably know, started the whole electric vehicle revolution. First came the Roadster with a limited release, and then along came the Tesla Model S, the first mainstream electric car. Shortly after the Model S came the Model X, and then a very long wait to see what comes next.
After a lot of anticipation, we got two Tesla vehicles with just a short period of time between releases. The Tesla Model 3 was unveiled in 2017 and the Tesla Model Y was released in 2019, going on sale the following year.
Both of these new vehicles are actually very similar, with the Model Y being taller and having more space available due to the bigger design. The Long Range version, we have available of the Model Y, gives you a real world range of around 260 miles. The cabin is very comfortable and the technology is market-leading. All good reasons to hire.
The Porsche Taycan – A Super Supercar
Our premium selection of electric vehicles are pretty spectacular, and the Porsche Taycan is the epitome of that. This is a real statement car with a real allure to it. A classic sporty body shape and a stunning design language to the interior. The Porsche Taycan is pure luxury.
Looking in the cabin is a feast for the eyes. You can see the elevated quality of a premium brand with many decades of car building knowhow. The central console and the infotainment screens on the dashboard are a real testament to modernity whilst, at the same time, not being imposing to the overall elegance.
Of course, this is a performance vehicle, so numbers do matter. On the long range version you get a real world range of around 260 miles and you can achieve 0-60 mph in just 4 earth-shattering seconds. This is a very fast electric car and it can hit a top speed of 162 mph. This is a limited speed, so it could go even faster if unlocked by Porsche. We recommend not breaking the speed limit, obviously.
Vauxhall Vivaro-e
Moving onto something different, the incredible electric vans. We have many vans in our variety of electric vehicles, and the Vauxhall Vivaro-e has shown itself to be a very popular and practical electric van to hire.
The Vauxhall Vivaro-e available from EVision Electric Vehicles is the L2 version. This is a proper work van with a huge amount of space in the cargo area and great comfort in the cabin area. You also get a fantastic infotainment system with plenty of features to make your drive easier and more enjoyable. With a great real world range of around 175 miles, this is also a very practical van.
Rivian R1T – The Variety of Electric Vehicles Got Bigger
The newest type of electric vehicle to enter the fray is the mighty pickup truck. There is something about pickup trucks that has always been quite cool. Although this type of vehicle has always been more popular in America, it has gained a lot more popularity in the UK in the last 10 years or so. Electric pickup trucks are making a big breakthrough, and the Rivian R1T is possibly the most famous of these in the EV world.
Unfortunately for many, the Rivian R1T is still only really available to buy in North America with no UK release being announced. Good news, however, is that this premium electric pickup truck is available to hire from EVision. Fresh from America, the R1T has been a real head-turner on this side of the Atlantic.
The interior is spectacularly luxurious, spacious and packed with interesting tech. It is in the performance where the Rivian R1T really comes into its own. An unbelievable real world range of 320 miles and a jaw-dropping 0-60 mph time of just 3 seconds. These numbers shouldn’t be possible with such a large vehicle.
In Conclusion
We love that the variety of electric vehicles continues to grow. There truly is something for everyone, with many vehicles available to hire from EVision. Whether you want a budget hatchback, a premium luxury vehicle, a van or a pickup truck, there is something here for you.
