The range of electric vehicles is going well over 300 miles as more and more ground-breaking cars and vans are released. However, even with a range of 200 miles there is still a lot you can do this Christmas without having to stop for a single charge.
Here we will look at Christmas attractions that you can visit that are less than a 200 mile round trip from each of our main collection points. These are located in Kent, Yorkshire, Devon and Durham. You may be surprised by what you find.
The Kent Location of EVision Electric Vehicles
Our Kent collection point is also the EVision Electric Vehicles Head Office. Situated in the Town of Strood, the Kent location is in a prime area for visiting many of the major towns and cities in the south east of the UK, including London. Here is just a taste of what you can find on the doorstep.
Brighton:
48 miles from our Strood depot is the vibrant city of Brighton. From the 18th to the 24th of December you can visit the Brighton Christmas Festival. Here you will find a Christmas market, Christmas shows and many different festive themed attractions. You can also test out your ice skating skills at the Royal Pavilion ice rink.
Milton Keynes:
If you travel 71 miles from our Strood collection point you can reach Milton Keynes. As with other major towns and cities, Milton Keynes is laying on lots of festivities over the Christmas period.
There is lots of fun to be had at the Christmas season being held over the festive period at Midsummer Place, featuring a large number of trees donated by local businesses that will be well lit up. Father Christmas at Bletchley Park and Elfie Mischief at Gulliver’s Land are other great family attractions in that area too.
London:
Our capital city, London, is a mere 28 miles from the Strood depot and is absolutely packed with festive activities. Whether that be shopping in Oxford Street, Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park, or any number of other events that are put on at attractions in London, you are sure to find something for everyone.
EVision Electric Vehicles Collection Point Yorkshire
Our second most northerly collection point can be found in Castleford, Yorkshire. This is a wonderful location to explore some great places in the North of the country.
Leeds:
The magnificent city of Leeds is only a 10 mile drive from Castleford and it has a lot of experiences to look forward to.
You can take in the extravaganzas that are being put on by various historic houses and estates all across Leeds, including Temple Newsam, Lotherton and Harewood House. Maybe you would prefer to explore the Christmas market at Kirkgate, the oldest part of Leeds city centre. Whatever you want to do, there will be plenty of choices.
Sheffield:
There are a number of golden Christmas nuggets to find in the wonderful city of Sheffield. The Magical Christmas experience comes to Meadowhall until the 24th of December with a number of festive treats inside and out. In the city centre you will find the magical Christmas market and, for the adults, the Alpine bar. Surely enough to put you in a seasonal mood. All of this is only 24 miles from our Yorkshire collection point.
Derby:
Just 54 miles from Castleford is Derby. Here you can attend “A Nordic Christmas” at Chatsworth, which promises a magical atmosphere of a Nordic winter. Maybe you would like to attend one of the many Christmas themed arts and crafts fairs that are being put on. We also love the idea of the Christmas fun days that are being hosted by Matlock Farm Park, full of outdoor festive fun.
EVision Electric Vehicles Collection Point at Devon
Our collection point in the south west of the UK can be found at Cullompton in Devon. This is the perfect gateway to the west and east of England, as well as the south of Wales. There’s plenty going on around this area for Christmas too.
Exeter:
If you travel around 13 miles from the collection point you will be able to get to Exeter, one of the major cities in the south east. Until the 18th of December you can enjoy the Cathedral Christmas Market, decorated with fairy lights and festive sights. Maybe you and the family might enjoy a trip to Cotley Farm to enjoy their magical Christmas experience.
Torquay:
The gem of the English Riviera is only a 31 mile excursion from your EVision collection point in Devon. Here you can explore the delights of the Winter Fest at Torre Abbey, a festive collection of crafts and gifts available in a beautiful Spanish barn setting.
How about getting into the Christmas spirit with a collection of Carols in the Caves at the Kents Cavern. Performances will be held on the 1st, 6th, 8th, 13th and 15th of December. Make sure you get your tickets.
Cardiff:
Croeso i Caerdydd (welcome to Cardiff). The capital city of our Welsh brothers and sisters is a hive of activity all year round. Christmas is certainly no different.
With Cardiff being only a 43 mile drive from our Devon base, maybe it is a great time to cross the border. If you do, you will get a huge choice of festive activities, from the ice rink and ice walk, the ice bar, Christmas at Bute Park and the magically alive Festive Quarter in the city centre. Cardiff is one of the places to be.
The Durham EVision Collection Point
Last, but certainly not least, is our most northerly collection point located in Durham. There are many festive delights for our northern friends near here as well.
Newcastle:
The Geordies have pulled out all the stops for Christmas as usual. There is no shortage of things to see and do at this time of year.
Why not see the impressive Leonardslee illuminated for a spectacular light display, or experience a traditional Christmas at the Beamish museum. Newcastle city centre will also have a Bavarian style Christmas market in full flow, getting you in the mood to welcome Kris Kringle. All of this is just 15 miles from our collection point.
Sunderland:
Another of the wonders of the north east is Sunderland. Only 12 miles from the Durham collection point, this is a city with a lot of Christmas trimmings for you.
The Frost Village returns for another year. Here you can enjoy the open air ice rink, the outdoor cinema showing Christmas films, and the Ha’Way in a Manger candlelight conga parade. There is also the Christmas Market in Keel Square to get into the spirit of things.
York:
Just 59 miles from our Durham point is the magnificent city of York. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the St Nicholas Christmas Festival returns to the city. Here you can get a taste of the traditional Bavarian style Christmas market huts, complete with festive wares and food.
Barley Hall invites you to experience Christmas past, and Jorvik Viking Centre has some Yuletide treats on offer as you experience the Viking era.
