Anyone who attended the Everything Electric Show in Farnborough last weekend would probably have noticed a really cool electric digger right by the EVision stand, including our Ford F-150 Lightning. What you probably don’t know is how the digger got to Farnborough in the first place.
On the Thursday before the show, an electric spectacle made its way west from the EVision Head Office. A Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck, complete with trailer, carried the Sany SY19E to the show. Seeing these two very different electric vehicles together speaks volumes about how far we have come in the electric revolution.
Learning More About the Ford F-150 Lightning
You won’t find many electric pickup trucks in the world, but the incredible Ford F-150 Lightning takes it to a whole new level. Whether you are looking for something with style, something with copious amounts of space, or a pickup truck with an unreal performance, then this could be the vehicle for you.
A surprising thing is that this vehicle is still not available to purchase in the UK. We don’t know why there is a reluctance, or at least a slowness, in bringing the Ford F-150 Lightning to the UK. Demand for great electric pickup trucks. We know this because the demand for this vehicle is huge at EVision. It would be. This is one of the very best, if not the best, pickup trucks in the world. We absolutely love it.
So What Can This Electric Pickup Truck Do?
You will be amazed at how such a big and heavy electric truck can perform to such an incredible level. For a start, you may be wondering how an EV can pull a mini digger. After all, a digger is not exactly a light vehicle in itself. Well, the Ford F-150 Lightning has a superb towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes!
Driving range on the truck is also incredible, with a real world range of around 280 miles on a single charge. You’d also expect such a large vehicle to be lagging on acceleration too. However, the F-150 Lightning will blow your mind as it reaches 0-60 mph in just 4 seconds! This is just a stunning number.
A Look at the Sany SY19E Mini Digger
Electric construction machinery is still a pretty new phenomenon. However, one of our sister companies, H. E. Services (Plant Hire) Ltd have brought in some fascinating electric machines. The Sany SY19E mini digger is just the latest to join the family.
Let’s talk numbers though. This is where the greatness of this digger comes alive. With a weight of 1965 kg, this is a hefty piece of equipment. However, it is no problem for our Ford F-150 Lightning to tow. The 15kW battery is good enough to give you between 3 and 6 hours of use, depending on what work you are carrying out. Combined with the fact that it only takes just over 2 hours to charge the battery back up again, this is an extremely practical machine to have on any site.
Attention at the Everything Electric Show
Once the show opened we were hoping that the Sany SY19E would get some attention. Although most people there are more excited about the cars, they are also really pumped for any new green technology coming into play. We knew that this electric mini-digger would be right up their street.
As expected (hoped), there was a lot of interest. People were intrigued by a machine, usually associated with diesel, being at an event dedicated to green technology. We spoke to a number of people who had private projects or who owned construction companies who were looking for something just like this. We are delighted that the crowds didn’t stop showing love for both the Ford F-150 Lightning and the impressive Sany SY19E.
Final Words
There’s nothing we like more than to show off just what our amazing electric vehicles can do. Getting an electric pickup truck to pull an electric digger to an electric show was just the icing on the cake. We know that the Ford F-150 Lightning will always be popular, especially as it is still not sold on these shores. However, it truly warmed our hearts to see the Sany SY19E being embraced and admired by so many.
Electric vehicles, no matter what they are, is the future. We need all areas of life and industry to start moving across to greener energy and stop, where possible, using fossil fuels. This is why we are proud to champion the existence of such incredible electric mini-diggers.
