Chinese owned British manufacturer, MG, are in somewhat of a flurry of electric car releases. Here at EVision we have enjoyed having the wonderful MG 5 on our fleet. The first electric estate car on our hire list has proven to be very popular with our customers.
MG have since followed up with the MG 4 and the MG ZS, both of which will be entering the EVision fleet in March 2023. We are really excited to have more of these wonderful cars on our fleet and we are sure you will love them too.
Here I will look in more depth at the MG ZS Long Range. This is the vehicle that you can book at EVision.
The MG ZS – What is it?
Something MG has done is produce excellent quality electric vehicles which are affordable. The MG ZS certainly fits into this category. It is a really well built car that not only looks great, but is also more affordable to buy or rent.
This vehicle is an SUV type car. Although there are many SUVs on the market, most will be out of the price range of many people. This SUV is different. However, we mean it is different in a good way. Premium quality build, both inside and out, plus some great tech, all for an affordable price.
Looking on the Inside
The interior of the vehicle is incredibly plush. You certainly wouldn’t expect a car of this build to fall under the “affordable” bracket, but that it does.
The seats are comfortable and look fantastic. The Trophy version of the MG ZS, which is what we will have at EVision, is in the higher spec. This means that you get electronically adjustable seats.
The dashboard is made with soft-touch plastics and the buttons in the vehicle all feel solid rather than that plastic feeling that even some premium cars have got. MG has nailed the design language inside and out.
Talking Tech
The MG ZS comes with nicely displayed 10.1 inch touchscreen infotainment system. This includes DAB radio, Bluetooth capabilities, and is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Of course, there are many fantastic applications already included in the infotainment system. The screen is very clear, responsive and is easy to navigate through. Another wonderful component of the MG ZS is that rear parking sensors and a 360 degree parking camera are included in the vehicle as standard.
MG ZS – Performing Above Its Class
So, the MG ZS has a pretty premium look inside and out, and it has some pretty great tech. Does that mean that the performance isn’t so great in order to get the price down? Well it seems that you don’t have to compromise on the car’s performance either.
You will find a quite sizable 68.3kWh usable battery under the vehicle. This gives you a real world range of around 225 miles. Of course, this range can go up or down depending on many factors, such as driving style and the weather etc.The WLTP tested range is 273 miles, just in case you wondered.
Although not the fastest electric car on the market, a 0-60mph time of 8.2 seconds is still nothing to be sneezed at. The top speed of the MG ZS is an impressive 109mph, although you should obviously obey the speed laws wherever you are.
A Few Final Words
We applaud MG here at EVision. They are doing what other manufacturers aren’t. Not only have they filled a gap in the market when they brought out the MG5 estate car, they have also kept their prices relatively low.
However, no compromise has been made when it comes to the quality of the cars. The MG ZS looks incredible both inside and out, plus it has fantastic tech and an admirable performance. MG know what their market is and they have done a great job in helping expand the number of electric cars on the road.
I am sure that MG will continue to bring out fantastic electric vehicles. In the meantime, you can hire an MG5 and register your interest in the MG ZS. The MG4 will be making an appearance very soon as well.
