At EVision we are very passionate about all forms of electric vehicles. This includes the wonderful vans that we are now starting to see fill vital gaps in the electric vehicle market. In this blog post I will be talking about two vans on the EVision fleet in particular which we are very proud of. The Vauxhall Vivaro-e and the Ford eTransit electric vans.

Vauxhall Vivaro-e – What is it?

The first of the larger sized electric work vans that we received at EVision was the Vauxhall Vivaro-e. Very similar in size and shape to the petrol and diesel versions of the Vauxhall Vivaro, the Vivaro-e has proven to be a very popular addition to the team. Practical, comfortable and hard wearing, the Vauxhall Vivaro-e has a diverse capability that makes it a useful vehicle for many purposes.

Of course, the vans statistics speak for themself. You get a load length of up to 2.8 metres and an overall load volume of 9.6 cubic metres. The payload of the Vauxhall Vivaro-e is just over a tonne at 1,002kg. This shows that the van has a great storage capacity for work equipment or for goods, whatever you need vans for.

The performance statistics for the Vauxhall Vivaro-e are also pretty impressive. There is a 0-60mph time of 13 seconds and you can reach a top speed of 84mph. When it comes to the range, this van will achieve a real world range of 175 miles. Rapid charging capabilities also mean that you can charge from 15-80% in just 20 minutes on a 150kW charger, getting you back on the road very quickly.

Ford eTransit Vans – An Icon Turns Electric

We have said it before, but it is worth repeating. The Ford Transit is the most iconic name when it comes to the world of work vans. There is a great reason for this. The Ford Transit vans are well known for being reliable, spacious and hard wearing. So would this reputation translate into the electric version of the van?

We had so much demand for the electric Ford vans, even before they were in existence. People just wanted the transit van as its name is synonymous with quality. It was a no-brainer then that we would get the van added to our fleet as soon as we were able to get our hands on it.

More About the Ford eTransit

No-one was disappointed with the Ford eTransit vans once we got our hands on them and were able to take them for a drive. Here is why.

This is a stunning looking van when you see it. I wouldn’t normally go too much into the looks of our vans, but this one is pretty special. The electric blue flashes on the grille of the van really catch your eye. This little touch lets you know it’s the electric version that you are looking at.

The interior is really comfortable. This makes perfect sense if you are planning to spend any portion of your work day travelling to sites or out on a delivery route. There is a fantastic array of technology available at your fingertips, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto enabled mirroring being a great feature of the van.

Capacity and Performance

At EVision we have 4 different sizes of the Ford eTransit available. These are the L2H2 L2H3 L3H2 and the L3H3. Load length of the vans goes up to 3,083mm in the L3 vans, and they have a load volume of up to 9.5 cubic metres which is quite considerable. The payload of the Ford eTransit vans is from 873kg.

When it comes to the performance statistics, the Ford eTransit holds itself up mightily. There is a real world range of 160 miles, a top speed of 85mph and it can achieve 0-60mph is just 7 seconds. For a large vehicle, these vans have a seriously impressive amount of torque.

Charging the van is pretty speedy as well. If you are using a 150kW rapid charger it will only take you around 34 minutes to get the battery from 15-80% of charge and ready to get back on the road again. All this, plus you have the pleasure of driving a great van that is ideal for the environment.
