Jaguar I-Pace – More Pounce Per Ounce

Here at EVision we have a special place in our heart for the magnificent Jaguar I-Pace. Back in 2019, before anyone even knew what Covid was, the happy old days, the Jaguar I-Pace came to the UK. You may remember that EVision received the very first Jaguar I-Pace in Kent, and one of the very first in the country. Love at first sight ensued, and that love for the car continues to this day.

What is it about the I-Pace that makes it such a desirable vehicle to drive? How has its technology held up in a world where everything moves on so quickly? Can the impressive performance of the day still hold up to other electric vehicles on the market today? These questions will all be answered here.

The Right Time to Hire an Electric Vehicle

Why should you hire a Jaguar I-Pace instead of going for a petrol or diesel car? Well, there are so many reasons to do so. Far too many for me to list here, but I can give you some ideas.

Firstly, the I-Pace and other electric vehicles are simply better for the environment. Ignore all the bad (and mostly false) press that you hear about EVs (electric vehicles). You won’t get any exhaust emissions from an EV. Although there are some particle emissions from tyres, these are very minimal. In fact, with regenerative braking you will likely produce much less tyre pollution than petrol or diesel in that regard too.

Secondly, they are cheaper to keep and maintain. Even with the rising energy costs, an electric car will cost a fraction of the cost of filling the equivalent petrol or diesel vehicle. Going beyond fuel, the maintenance of an EV is inexpensive. There are far fewer moving parts in an EV, so it makes sense that there is less to go wrong. Of course, we at EVision will take care of your maintenance concerns and we will undergo all servicing of the vehicle for you.

A final point I want to bring up is that you will find fewer travel restrictions with an electric car, such as the I-Pace. London, for example, is expanding its ultra low emissions zone (ULEZ) and many other cities are introducing them. The Jaguar I-Pace can travel through without the fear of being penalised.

A Look at  the Outside of the I-Pace

Jaguar was the first premium legacy car manufacturer to release an electric car. And, to be absolutely honest, it still beats many other legacy models that have been released since. The Jaguar I-Pace is just a true EV masterpiece.

For a start, the I-Pace just looks glorious. The large SUV is almost indistinguishable from the F-Pace that comes from the same manufacturer in the petrol and diesel range. The I-Pace is a solid and well built car that is really aesthetically pleasing. It remains one of our most favourite EVs on the EVision fleet.

Purring Inside the I-Pace

Step into the Jaguar I-Pace and once you feel that comforting solid thunk of the door closing, you know you are in a well built car. Jaguar, after all, is a legacy manufacturer that has built cars for many decades. They are really very good at it.

The design language inside the car is as impressive as the exterior. You’ll find a cabin that is wonderfully spacious and superbly comfortable. You’d be very happy to travel over long distances in these seats.

The infotainment screen still holds its own against many modern incarnations. In fact, I would have to say that the Jaguar I-Pace infotainment system is better than a lot of modern ones. Even after so many advancements in technology, this one still holds up very well.

A Premium Performance

You will be filled with unbridled joy when you drive the Jaguar I-Pace. The suspension, for a start, is simply brilliant and makes the ride a smooth one. As you would expect from a Jaguar, the performance stats of the car are simply sublime as well.

Powering the vehicle is a 90kWh battery under the chassis. With this, the Jaguar I-Pace has a real world range of at least 235 miles. However, you should be able to get quite a bit more than this with a careful driving style, particularly in good weather. There is a top speed of 124mph and you can get to 60mph from standing in as little as 4.8 seconds. The torque is quite impressive and you can definitely feel the pull when you accelerate.

Charging on the Jaguar I-Pace is pretty excellent. The I-Pace was among the first cars to have CCS charging capabilities and it can charge at speeds up to 150kW. To get from 15-80% charge you are looking at about 40 minutes on a rapid charger. Not bad at all considering the great range of the vehicle.
