The Audi E-Tron Q4 Cutie

Car side on

Self-styled as the city-friendly SUV by Audi themselves, the Audi e-tron Q4 is the latest addition from the German legacy manufacturer. Admittedly, Audi have not made things easy for themselves when it comes to the nomenclature of these vehicles. Particularly when it came to the first in the e-tron range which was called… the e-tron.

However, with the original e-tron rebranding as the Q8, things may start to become a little clearer.

What is the Audi E-Tron Q4?

The Audi e-tron Q4 is an SUV, to put it most simply. The car is slightly smaller than the original incarnation, but certainly no less impressive.

The first thing that really hits you when you see the Q4 is the incredibly large grille. Don’t let the size put you off though. In the case of the Audi e-tron Q4, big is beautiful. This is a stunning looking front that is nicely textured to give the car a very premium look. As grilles are more or less decorative on electric vehicles, they have become something of an aesthetic feature on EVs. Audi has done it well.

Although this is a big electric vehicle, it isn’t over-imposing or too aggressive. It retains a nice sense of style and class that is so synonymous with Audi.

A Look Inside

The interior of the Audi e-tron Q4 is plush, comfortable and luxurious, just as you would expect. Being the first of the Audi cars to be built on the Volkswagen MEB platform, the Q4 has much better space to play with in the cabin due to the absence of any drive shaft running through the centre of the vehicle.

The dashboard set up oozes coolness. It is a beautiful mix of style, class and futuristic grandeur. A nice middle ground of physical buttons feature around the centre console without the cabin looking overcrowded. Minimalists may not be huge fans, however, there is a big call for physical buttons for a multitude of operations that you want to access quickly. This is something that the zero button approach can overlook at times.

Looking at the infotainment screens in particular, these are easy to use and they come with supremely high standard resolution graphics. These high resolutions make the satellite navigation controls a joy to operate.

The sound system also needs a special mention (I usually don’t feel a need to mention the sound systems). Whether you prefer listening to the Archers on Radio 4, or whether you like a bit of death metal, the sounds will permeate the vehicle via a premium Sonos sound system. This means you get top of the range tunes for your travels.

Spectacular Specs and Delicious Driving

Being a big SUV, the driver’s seat sits quite high. However, it isn’t the towering height that you would in a Range Rover, for example. It is a good height for driving this particular vehicle. The suspension is excellent and there is a smooth drive afforded to the passengers, which is always nice in the bigger end of the car range.

Now onto the meaty details of the Audi e-tron Q4’s performance. This gorgeous specimen of a car comes with 76.6kWh of usable battery to power the vehicle. With this you will get around 290 miles of real world range (although this can be considerably more with careful driving). There is a top speed of 112mph and you can get to 60mph from a standing start in 6.2 seconds. Not too shabby.

EVision will be receiving the first of our Audi e-tron Q4 cars in December 2022 with more following early in 2023. Get in touch to reserve yours today.
