Renault ZOE vs Vauxhall Corsa-e

Vauxhall Corsa-e

There’s no doubt that the pressure is on for manufacturers to release a range of all electric vehicles. This comes after the announcement that petrol and diesel cars will not be produced after 2030.

But let’s not forget that we already have a fantastic array of electric vehicles to choose from. Most people have come around to the fact that electric cars are the future, but the question is, which vehicles are best for urban living, commuting and everyday life?

We compare two of the most popular electric vehicles currently on the market, the Vauxhall Corsa-e and the Renault ZOE, to hopefully settle your decision.

Vauxhall Corsa-e

Released in April 2020, the Vauxhall Corsa-e eases us into the new normal of electric vehicles. The reason for this being that most of the features from the original Corsa have stayed the same. Thus the transition not being quite as intimidating to those that have not had experience driving electric.

The Vauxhall Corsa-e offers an impressive mile range of up to 200 miles, and is powered by a 50 kW battery, which when driven in eco mode can extend your range by up to 40%.

Similarly to other electric vehicles, there are different driving modes to choose from. With the Corsa-e, you can choose from Normal, Eco and Sport. The different driving modes are a great way to find one that suits your requirements.

The interior is designed with the latest touch screen technology and Multimedia Navi. Perfect for those that enjoy the futuristic technology!

You can also benefit from a rear view camera and parking sensors, lane keep assist and emergency braking systems to better your overall driving experience.

Renault ZOE

At EVision, we proudly offer both the Renault ZOE E Dynamique EVR 90 and the Renault ZOE i Play R110

The most recent model (i Play R110) was also released in 2020 and has been a serious competitor in the market since it’s first model released over a decade ago.

Depending on which model you choose, you will receive a range of between 160 – 210 miles on a full charge. This is particularly ideal for those travelling in the city or large town for your commute to work.

All three models are well equipped. You can expect the entry level Play features to include LED headlights, air conditioning, cruise control, auto lights and wipers and a seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Due to its size, the ZOE models are perfect for high volume traffic, and parking in built up areas. On the same note however, the ZOE still provides plenty of room for your family and storage.

Disadvantages

After researching some reviews, it has been said that the Vauxhall Corsa-e provides a much more fun driving experience, fast charging and a decent range. However, on the contrary to this, the quality of the interior is said to be better inside the ZOE.

In addition to this, reviewers have commented that the ZOE is much more comfortable inside, meaning a better user experience. The ZOE is cheaper to run and provides a spacious interior and boot which is likely to be more ideal for those looking for a new family car.

However, the ZOE is a slower car in comparison to the Vauxhall Corsa-e and is reviewed as “not as fun”.

It’s also worth noting that you can expect to get more for your miles in a single charge with the ZOE, due to it’s slightly larger battery and smaller weight than the Corsa-e. Despite this, the Corsa-e makes up for this with it’s faster charging capabilities.

Which will you choose?

In conclusion, it’s clear to us that both vehicles are impressive competitors and both offer everything you need to do your daily commute to work, and your weekly trips to the supermarket.

They each make fantastic family cars, which we know is incredibly important when making the decision of your next car.
