Hire an electric van at EVision

So you’re looking to hire an electric van? Not sure which electric van is right for you or the job though? No problem. Here we give you a complete introduction to electric vans – so stay tuned!

Electric Vehicles

There are so many electric vehicles on the market nowadays, which is absolutely incredible. We’re delighted to see the EV revolution really picking up pace with so many people deciding to make the switch from the internal combustion engine. With top manufacturers such as Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Kia, Renault – honestly the list is endless – all taking the EV market very seriously, it’s no wonder the UK government’s plan to ban petrol and diesel cars is coming at a much quicker rate. Originally the UK government set a time scale to ban petrol and diesel cars by 2040 but this has been brought forward to 2030! The UK government really is taking the eradication of fossil fuel power very seriously. And rightly so in our opinion.

Introducing Electric Vans

Electric cars have been available for quite some time now and as time has moved on, better electric car specifications are coming on the market. What hasn’t yet been on the market is electric vans with a decent range. Until now!

Meet The Vauxhall Viraro-e Electric Van

The Vauxhall Vivaro-e is a medium sized electric van. You might think the name sounds familiar and that’s because it is. Vauxhall have revamped their diesel van, the Vauxhall Vivaro and the ‘e’ at the end of the name is to simply refer to ‘electric’.

So looking at the diesel or electric Vivaro, you will see that the interior and exterior is very similar indeed, pretty much the same in fact. The Vivaro can come with either a short or long wheel base. If you want to hire an electric van with EVision, then currently we have the Vivaro-e with the long wheelbase available to rent on a short term basis or hire long term.

Load Space

The loadspace in the conventional Vivaro or electric Vivaro is exactly the same, as both can transport lengths of up to 2.8 meters. What’s more is that the electric Vivaro also comes as either a panel van or a double cab van. Just like it’s diesel counterpart.

Battery Size

So we’ve given you the similarities between the diesel and electric Vauxhall Vivaro van, now let’s focus on the differences. Firstly, the Vivaro-e can come with a 50kWh battery unit which has a range of up to 143 miles. Alternatively, the larger battery option is a 75kWh and delivers a range of up to 205 miles (WLTP). This makes the Vauxhall Vivaro-e one of the most lucrative electric vans on the market to date. The battery takes up hardly any space, as it perfectly integrates into the vehicle. This means more cabin room!

Charging

Now you know the battery sizes, the next question is how long does the Vauxhall Vivaro-e take to charge? The 50kWh battery can re-charge up to 80% in just 30 minutes when using a 100kW public charger. You would most likely see these types of public charger at motorway service stations.

Pollution Reduction

What’s more is that the Vivaro-e not only is greener, saving on air pollution, but it’s also incredibly quiet focusing on noise pollution reduction too. So if you’re working in busy urban areas, near hospitals or schools, the Vauxhall Vivaro-e is absolutely perfect.

Other Electric Vans Available

Other electric vans currently on the market include the Renault Kangoo ZE which is a small electric van. The electric Kangoo has a real world driving range of around 120 miles from its 33kWh battery.

If you’re looking for a large electric van, then on the market now is the Iveco Daily Electric and also the LDV EV80, which has a range of around 127 miles from its 56kWh battery.
