The VW ID.3 is Volkswagen’s latest addition, but unlike any other car, this is pure 100% electric.

That is huge news, and it just goes to show how far Volkswagen is ready to go, to really combat the environmental issues that the world is facing.
The factory where the ID.3 is made in Zwickaum, in Germany is now 100% renewably powered, using solar and wind power, as well as huge batteries. Only electric vehicles are made in the factory, so no combustions engine vehicles will be made here at all.
THREE BATTERY VARIENTS
The VW ID.3 comes available in three different types of battery.
- The most popular 58kWh battery
- The 45kWh battery
- And finally the impressive 77kWh battery

Range
The 58kWh battery will give a range of around 200 to 220 miles on a single change. A plus is that whatever the weather the VW ID.3 should be able to deliver this range no matter what. Unlike it’s electric vehicle counterparts.
Exterior
The exterior of the VW ID.3 looks pretty much the same as your conventional combustion engine. It does however have a slightly futuristic look, mainly when looking front on. The front of the car is much shorter as there is no engine space and to keep the car looking like a trendy hatch back, space has been saved at the front.
Interior
The interior is incredibly spacious for both the driver, front passenger and more importantly the rear passengers.
The VW ID.3 has 4 seats which further provides enhanced movement for the rear two passengers. Two adults will enjoy ample room in the back and two children will have plenty of room for toys and the like.
The boot opens via the VW badge on the rear of the vehicle, and inside you will find a very generous amount of space. VW have given a whopping 385 litres of storage! There isn’t however any front storage space as that is where the electrics are kept. Although with such a huge boot, there isn’t much need for front space as well.
Driving
The VW ID.3 is incredibly smooth to drive. It comfortably goes over bumps in the road. The satellite navigation is easy to follow. There’s a gentle murmur sound to allow pedestrians to know you’re there. It isn’t too complicated and for someone who hasn’t driven electric before, you will definitely feel at home almost instantly in the VW ID.3.
Charging
The VW ID.3 can charge up to 100kw on a rapid charger. The medium battery can recharge a range of up to approx. 260 miles in 30 mins, in quick charge mode with DC (direct current) with 100 kW performance.
