In light of recent events due to coronavirus (COVID-19) the general public have been advised to avoid public transport where possible. In response to the on-going outbreak, EVision are remaining open. We and have been taking all appropriate measures to ensure the well-being and safety of our customers and staff.
How can you avoid public transport in major cities?
Avoiding public transport can be difficult for some and especially those in major cities such as central London. In these locations a large portion of the public rely on buses, trains and tubes. However, as more people refrain from using public transport and start to use other means, there is the option to use electric vehicles.
When driving a fully-electric vehicle, drivers benefit from no London Congestion Charge or Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) charge. This can be handy to know for those who live and work in these zones. If you frequently travel in either of these areas you will know that the fee can rack up very quickly. That is where driving an electric vehicle can offer substantial savings. Especially for those who are still working as normal in an office and are trying to avoid public transport where possible. An electric car is an option to seriously consider.
Why consider an electric car?
During this difficult time it is hard to carry on general day to day life without the worry of COVID-19. An electric car can help you be safe in the knowledge that driving an EV is less likely to cause the spread of the virus as you are avoiding large crowds and public transport.
Did you also know Tesla vehicles have HEPA filtration systems which are capable of stripping the outside air of pollen, bacteria, and pollution before they enter the cabin. This systematically cleans the air inside the cabin to eliminate any trace of these particles.
The overall result is a filtration system that is more efficient than standard automotive filters. This ensures that all occupants receive the best possible air quality. Regardless of what is happening in the environment around them.
Running costs
As the UK government starts to slowly go into lock down, financial constraints begin to become a significant worry for employers and employees alike.
An electric car can save you or your company a large sum of money when it comes to fuel costs. This is due to electricity being universally cheaper than fossil fuels. Meaning that a conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle will cost you more to run. Especially if you are travelling in the zones mentioned above. Keep in mind that another perk to driving an EV is that many places offer free charging as well as free parking.
If you are looking at a Tesla, you will be able to take advantage of free Tesla Supercharging across the UK. Which will save you a few extra pounds in your wallet.
